Creation is defined as: the action or process of bringing something into existence. So many things come to mind when I think about the word creation. God creating the world, crafts made by children, hand-made home decor, becoming a new creation with a life-changing event. While there are so many more characteristics and traits of creation, relevant now are the new creations we see with each season. Season meaning both the tangible, weather-changing seasons, and the spiritual/personal seasons of life. Even now, the weather has begun to shift its gears as seasons morph. It is sheer wonderment how winter is something unlike any other season. Snow is one of life's most beautiful sights, the way it falls so peaceful and gentle, blanketing the ground with pure white glitter. Winter has its own smell, as everything in its path freezes over, and the air becomes crisp and refreshing. With winter, comes a dimmer world with less sun, but brighter in its own special way, with bright lights hung from homes and cozy fire-places that glow. As winter comes to an end and transforms into spring, an entirely new creation begins to unfold. Snow and ice melt, the sun becomes brighter, flowers bloom, birds sing. Spring definitely produces brand new creations with every look. Summer continues the creations born from spring bringing mature crops ready to be harvested. Then so delicately and gently turns over to autumn, where creations of a colorful world of fallen leaves surround us. Autumn is the perfect transition to prepare for winter, as the once plush green leaves on trees color themselves every shade of yellow, orange and red, just to fall to the chilly ground. The seasons as we know them are simply amazing and they're beauty in each stage is something to be in awe of. While we have these tangible seasons, we all know that there, too, exists seasons of life where a personal journey has taken a turn. These seasonal turns can either be for the better or can bring heartbreak. Each life season brings a new creation within our souls. Life events change us to the core as they alter the way we view things. Seasons of life that produce change could be a newborn baby, children going to school, marriage, starting a new career, moving to a new city, starting a new hobby or activity. Seasons of life also bring on trials and harder times, such as the loss of a loved one, a child leaving home, the heartache from a divorce. With several more life seasons on both sides of the spectrum, it is difficult to predict how anyone would navigate through life after experiencing a hardship, especially. I imagine it is with great love and support found within friends and family, faith, and self-reflection. Maybe regaining a focus on health and wellness can help get through a season of trials and challenges. Much like the changing weather seasons, and the beauty and transformation they bring, seasons of life also bring a beautiful transformation. As the seasons begin to change and we enter in to autumn, be mindful of the many new creations taking place, and even more so, be mindful of life seasons that many people may be experiencing, offer a helping hand, or extend grace and kindness with a smile in passing.
